Adolescent Therapy

Adolescent Therapy

I know that getting your teen to agree to come to therapy can be a challenge, so I believe in creating a space that will welcome all adolescents.

I am very passionate about working with kids and teens. I know that parenting is not easy and parenting an adolescent presents its own set of challenges. It can be hard to understand what normal teen behavior looks like and and how to know when your teen needs help. Therapy can provide a safe space for adolescents to practice forming healthy and boundaried relationships.

Understanding your teen's behaviors can be extremely challenging. Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference between age-appropriate moodiness and more concerning mood swings. Teens of today have the added challenge of having lived through the pandemic, which was disruptive to a lot of student's mental health with the change in routine and increased stressors.

Adolescence is a time of great growth and change as teens move towards increasing levels of independence. It is also a very opportune time to support them in navigating new boundaries, emotions, and desires.

With the added pressure of changes from the pandemic, presence of social media, there has never been a more important time to support your teens through therapy.

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length with sessions available online or in-person.

I understand the importance of confidentiality in therapy, which is why I use a HIPAA-compliant web service to host all virtual sessions.
