Meet Dani Carney, LICSW

She/Her/Hers

I am passionate about providing holistic care that centers around your goals and experiences. I partner with you to provide space to explore the challenges you're facing and to help you feel empowered to take charge and navigate life stressors - both the expected and unexpected.

I support individuals and families in navigating life changes and unexpected stressors. In fact, I lead a therapeutic support group for patients adjusting to illness at a local hospital. In the hospital setting, I get to see the ins and outs of healthcare and I value working with those undergoing treatment and their caregivers as they navigate life's transitions.

I provide skill-based work to support clients in creating greater agency in their lives. I am a expert in grief, transition, and loss and have been invited to train under leaders in grief at prestigious institutions such as the Cape Cod Institute. For both grief and general counseling, I am inspired by the Internal Family Systems Approach (IFS) to better support my clients in working with the different parts of themselves. I am also a big believer in somatic and body-based work to help clients feel more grounded and calm. I provide all clients with kindness, compassion, and patience through the talk therapy process. In addition to IFS and somatic work, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Art Therapy to support my clients. It is important to me to be able to be flexible, adaptable, and up to date with the latest research. I have also been invited to speak on stress management at a national event.

Outside of the office, you may find me reading, swimming, or puzzling! I am on the Continuing Education Committee at leading Boston hospital and have worked with the hospital to make changes in trainings and quality of work. I'm passionate about history and have worked with local populations on publishing first-hand accounts of historical events.

Offering Individual,

Couples, and Family Therapy

Dani works both children and adults for individual therapy.

I am originally from the Boston area and in the warmer months, I enjoy taking the dogs on a walk around Deer Island and exploring the state's fantastic walking paths. In the colder months, you can find me bundled up indoors drinking hot tea and trying a new puzzle. And if you happen to enjoy dogs, beach days, or processing deep emotions while sitting on an empty green line train - we’ll probably have a few things in common.

With kindness and gratitude,

Dani Carney, LICSW
